Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů writes to Charlotte Martinů that [Alén] Diviš and his pupil visited him yesterday. [Jan] Löwenbach will sail to Prague on the ship that leaves on 23 [October]. BM hopes that ChM has news of his boat ticket. Expects [Jan] Masaryk's arrival next week, and also hopes to have received his letter.
BM is working on [SMITH QUARTET No. 6] and has finished [TOCCATU E DUE CANZONI] and informed [Paul] Sacher about it. The shoemakers send their regards. Robert [Casadesus] is in New York on a business trip. BM is looking forward to meeting [Charles] Munch and [Manuel] Rosenthal who will be coming next month. He still has the same news from home, they are sad that ChM cannot return sooner.
BM plans to write a CONCERT [FOR PIANO AND ORCHESTRA NO. 3] for Rudolf [Firkušný], but the work is tiring him. Marie Machacek sends him food, which AD brings him. Advises ChM to send MM a postcard to 35b 420-32 East 72nd St. and also thanks [Joseph] Shim from Paris.
