Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů hopes that Charlotte Martinů has received his previous letters and has taken steps to return to the United States. He states that he is prepared to ask for help from the consulate or Mr. [Harold] Byrns if it would be difficult to get a place on the ship.
BM advises that three doctors have expressed the opinion that his voyage would be dangerous and that he must make a slow recovery. He has started work on a composition [TOCCATA E DUE CANZONI] for [Paul] Sacher and on the SCREAM QUARTET No. 6. Marie [Martinů] is worried about him. BM has received letters from Henriette Hir[shmann] and Mr Maximilian. Rudolf [Firkušný] has returned and is looking after BM. BM plans to ask the insurance company for compensation.
