Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů apologises for his last letter of 8 November, which said that BM was asking for a contribution in the form of a festival prize for his composition [SMITH QUINTET]. He explains that there was a misunderstanding, that he was only asking for information on how he could apply for the prize. He thanks them for sending him a Christmas present which will enable him to work on his opera [THREE WISHES] for a full five months without existential worries. He hopes to be able to dedicate a larger work to Elizabeth Sprague Coolidge later as a token of appreciation.
