Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů thanks Elizabeth Sprague Coolidge for performing his work [SMITH QUINTET] at the festival. He suggests that it would be very helpful to his life situation if this work were to be given some kind of festival prize or publishable ESC award, which would hopefully increase its prestige and thus his chances of larger commissions. BM asks directly if she would be willing to help him in this regard. Finally, he reminds us that his SYMPHONY [RHAPSODIE], under the direction of Sergei Koussevitzky, is to be premiered in Boston.
