ContentOtakar Ostrčil sends Karel Kovařovic an assessment of Bohuslav Martinů's ballet NOC: although the music shows a certain sense of colour, it is monotonous (overuse of harps, celesta and piano), which is true both harmonically and melodically. The work is unsuitable for the ND stage for the same reasons as the ballet THE SHADOW.
