Content and physical description
ContentHe sends Mr. Hyk (London legation) the score of the Rhapsody; he has no pleasant news; the reply from Dresden is evasive, they do not want to commit themselves; the general conditions in Germany are so bad that H. does not see an immediate possibility of performing the Three Wishes; Klemperer will perform Janáček's opera From the Dead House in the spring (29.5.1931, dir. Zweig), "and this is the only Czechoslovak novelty that can be promoted in Germany after the Prague film riots" (demonstration against showing German films in their original versions); let BM deal with Schott, it is a very serious publisher and "will be a good substitute for Universal Edition, which has not treated you well enough"; New Year's wishes.
