Content and physical description
ContentBM and ChM finally arrived in the USA a few days ago. He found Mihalovici's letter, the contents of which saddened Martin. In New York he was greeted as a great composer and a reception was arranged for him. During those few days he recovered and is happy at the thought that he will soon be able to write music. BM sent a telegram to Mihalovici requesting that Monique [Haas, wife] take the manuscripts to Cannes and that Mrs. Fittelberg [sic!] BM will mainly need the theatrical items THE SPALIER, "Miracles" [PLAYS ABOUT MARY] and JULIETTE. He asks if they will not be moving from Cannes and what the Mihalovits and their friends Iréne, Harsányi, [...] are doing, whom he greets. He asks if he has met his friend Forman, who inhabits the Villa Provence Boul. d'Italia in Cannes - he could also mediate if a few more manuscripts arrive in Cannes, BM is making efforts to get them. He is very fond of Paris, and writes about New York and music in America.

Inscribed in the left margin of the first page:
"You could send a 'postcard' to M. Louis Wauthier 29 rue Decrés Paris 14, and tell him that the score of 'Miracles de N[otre] Dame' [PLAYS OF MARY] from the Vieux Moulin must be sent to Paris, if it has not already been done."
