ContentBohuslav Martinů writes to Charlotte Martinů from Great Barrington, where he is at the school with the beautiful castle where [Robert] Casadesus worked. He informs her of his round room and the wonderful pupils chosen by [Aaron] Copland. He singles out one pupil in particular who is a pleasure to work with. BM is unhappy with the food at the college.
Concerts begin next week and Martins plans to visit Tanglewood more often. Last week Mischa Elman performed a CONCERT FOR VIOLINS AND ORCHESTRA [No. 2]. [Richard] Bourgin will perform a TRE RICERCARI in August and probably a [PIANO] QUINTET [No. 2]. BM also met with the Speyers. BM would like to arrange to rent an apartment in New York in September.
