Nov.8-53
Dear Mr. Schlee:
I am so terribly late with my answer to your kind letter, please, excuse me, you probably already know that sometimes I am lost for the world of correspondence. I was not so well the last month too.
Concerning my “Concerto da Camera”, I am very glad you like it and that yo would print it, please, send me the contract and make a good one for me. I have a confidence you will do it right. I shall inform Boosey & Hawkes to realease it for you. Please let me know about the piano part which could be partly reduced or taken off in the “solo” places, I think somebody could look at it.
As to the Two violins Concerto I have to keep it for myself still for two years as it is exclusive compostiions for two young American violinit, so do not bother about it. I still have some chamber music scores free but I do not know if you are interested in that kind.
I would like to have with me the vocal score of Janacek: Jenufa but cannot find it here, do you think you could lend me one copy for two or three months and send it to me without to much of difficulties, may be from Paris?
I hope to hear from you soon, am sending you my best wishes.
Sincerely yours
B. Martinu
