ContentAlfred Schlee thanks you for your letter of 20.5. He knows Trudy Goth and they both think that Dimitri Mitropoulos could present the Greek PASSIONS in Salzburg if Herbert Karajan decides to do so. But it is not very realistic. Nevertheless, DM will send the score. A premiere at the MET is risky.
Rafael Kubelík requests the work for London. The performance won't be until the autumn of 1958, there will be time to prepare the materials.
Margrit Weber would like BM to compose a concertino for piano and orchestra. lasting 18-25 minutes for 10,000 Swiss francs - on condition that the work is dedicated to her, the score goes to her and there is a two-year exclusivity [CONCERT FOR PIANO AND ORCHESTRA No. 5 (FANTASIA CONCERTANTE)]. BM is to write to say whether he accepts the offer and how long the work will take.
