Content and physical description
ContentDavid Adams answers Bohuslav Martinů’s questions:
1) Boosey & Hawkes want Prague to return the vocal score of JULIETTE with the English translation.
2) DA thanks him for the information about Giachino Rossini, required by the director of the advertising department. 3) DA is pleased that the performance of JULIETTE in Wiesbaden was a success. Hopefully, it will lead to other performances in Europe, and perhaps in the USA too.
4) DA encloses “The Broude Edition” list. B&H can only mediate scores of Richard Strauss’s operas.
5) Beal Twins still possess the exclusive rights to the CONCERTO FOR TWO VIOLINS AND ORCHESTRA. On 30 January 1958 a contract prolonging exclusiveness until 31 March 1961 was concluded. Should BM want to transfer the work to another publisher, transferring this contract too would not be a problem.
6) Dr. Ernst Roth is now healthy and back working.
7) They have no materials for the SONATA DA CAMERA FOR CELLO AND ORCHESTRA, not even the score.

As soon as the contract is ready, they will send it to BM, together with a cheque for approximately $600.
