Content and physical description
ContentUnveiling of the memorial plaque to BM in Polička (8.12.1957). The memorial plaque was created by akad. sculptor Josef Kadlec. The Kollár singing group sang a "greeting", but it had to be composed. This task was undertaken by "Brother Jeník" [Jan Janele], the archivist of the singing group. He wrote the text of the toast and sent it to Bohumil Čeňek, the former choirmaster and professor of music, in Jičín. He set the text of the toast to music. The toast was then rehearsed by Jaroslav Maděra, director of the Music School B. Martinů. The toast was a success and was repeated on 22 January 1958. Prof. Čeněk then copied the toast in his own handwriting, and Janela now sends a copy to BM by post. She writes Prof. Čeněk's address so that BM could write to him.
They reminisce - they were in spirit with BM at the premiere of Gilgamesh.
Bures was in Polička at Christmas, today he is leaving for a literary and musical matinee of works by Bures and Martinů - the opening of the film "Opening the Wells". It will take place at the Theatre of Music in Prague on 16 February 1958.
On 5.2.1958 an evening was held in Vysoké Mýto to celebrate BM.
