Content and physical description
ContentTancibudek thanks BM for his letter of 5.11. He was in Sydney last month and spoke to Mr. Mc Nicoll, he says he is about to write to BM about payment [for the CONCERT FOR HOBO AND SMALL ORCHESTRA]. However, Australia is going through a crisis regarding foreign currencies, paying in US dollars or Swiss francs will probably be difficult. The editors of the Daily Telegraph will give the Concerto for Oboe and Small Orch. BM will get tremendous publicity. The Concerto has not yet been performed by Tancibudek; it will be performed next year as part of the 1956 Olympic year in Sydney and perhaps in Melbourne (not sure when yet). Tancibudek likes the concerto very much, he has already studied the 1st movement. Over Christmas he will have orch. material procured - on blanks and have it photostatically reproduced. Tancibudek hopes that BM will give him the exclusive right to perform the concert for at least one year (1956). He will try to interest Phillips (Recording Co.). He wrote to Kubelík about the BM concert. Süsskind also enthusiastic about the concert. However, Tancibudek begs BM to mention the concert to Kubelík himself: Tancibudek asked him (Kubelík) if they could have an English or European premiere together - sometime in the future. He would like to do a concert with him in England within two years at the latest.
