ContentHe is having trouble with his right hand; he has written to Franklin; he has not sent the notes to Prague, only saying that they are finished and that they are dedicated to FJ; he mentions the doctor; the political situation in the world; he urges FJ to buy a plan of Rome; he has received Holzknecht's book on Ježek from Prague; found an article about a botched performance of a piece by Ježek (Sonata) at the Festival- BM's piece (Ricercari) was also performed there, BM was not at the performance, listened to the radio broadcast; maintains written contact with Polička- letters are true. Censored; BM's sister is in hospital; about the situation in the world; wants to send FJ a poem and one copy with sheet music [to Legena about the smoke from potato plants]; listens to the radio- his compositions are played a lot; Allen Diviš died; mentions Werich, E. F. Burian and Žapot; he reads Gardner; he does not go to the Veneta, it is far away; his work on the opera is going well, but it tires him; Šafránek is still in Paris; BM wants to celebrate his birthday at home- he will have a friend there.
