ContentHe's busy working on the opera - he's already finished Act 3.; about the political situation in Italy, and other European countries, and also in the USA; he received new poems from his poet from Polička [Miloslav Bureš], and at his request he set them to music, and so the Romance [Legend] from the Smoke of Potato Nuts was written, which he is dedicating to FJ, he does not know whether he should send it (the Romance) to Prague; he has little news from home, but Czechs write to him from all over the world (the cellist Smetana from China, an acquaintance from Moscow, others from Australia and Poland); the New York Times asks him for some information-among others. How Prague values BM and whether they want him to come back; he has no news about Frank; he has not yet replied to Ruda or Stella.
