Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů explains that he has already sent the piano extract for MIRANDOLINA to Kassel and will send the "mastersheet score" in a few days. Unfortunately, there are few theatres in Italy in which the work can be performed; he prefers to make a translation into English. BM also comments on the clarinet and soprano part. He asks Karl Vötterle whether it would not be more appropriate to put the score into print after the Prague performance. Thanks for the information on fees. He expects a visit from Karel Šebánek. BM suggests that Miloš Šafránek write an article about him and his operas. BM says that there has been a problem with the State Publishing House - thinking that Bärenreiter has only the first cycle of the Songs of the Slave, they have asked KV for permission to publish the second part. BM notes that he will send the signed contracts soon; he is just waiting for Paul Sacher to return so he can go over some details with him. He sends the text, not yet ready, for the opera PLAYS OF MARY, adding that the author of the translation is Mrs. Inge Schmidhuber of Munich.
