ContentBohuslav Martinů thanks Paul Sacher for his letter. He apologises for the misunderstanding about the receipt [for EPOS ON GILGAMES] - he remembers the exact moment when Maja Sacher handed him the envelope with thousands of dollars on the way to Schönenberg. BM got the date wrong and was confused by the name of the Basel Chamber Orchestra on the receipt. Charlotte Martinů tells him he's stupid. BM encloses the signed receipt.
BM and ChM would like to return to Schönenberg on 1 December [in Nice] having paid for accommodation for three months from September. They will rest here [in Nice]. Their trip was hectic and busy.
When would PS like BM and ChM to arrive for the rehearsals of the [SMITH] SEXTET and for the concert?
They have beautiful weather, which was not in Brittany, and ChM goes swimming in the sea. BM is lazy. He's learning German one word a day and getting ready to proofread the GREEK PASSIONES.
He wrote to Maja Sacher about Ernst Mohr.
