Content and physical description
ContentPaul Sacher apologises to Bohuslav Martinů for his late reply to his letter of 26 February.
He has not yet had time to study the score of the EPOS ON GILGAMES thoroughly, he has just looked at it a little. He finds the piece beautiful.
The Basel performance will not be able to take place until the 1956/1957 season, as PS's general programme was fixed before he received the score from BM. At least there would be more time to make the material and arrange other things.
PS asks for one more copy of the score. Suggests to the addressee that they go through the score together in September. He will have a lot of concerts before June and will be at Glyndebourne in July.
It would be easier for the choir to perform the piece in the German version. Would BM agree to a translation?
He and Maja Sacher greet the addressee and Charlotte Martinů.
