Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav and Charlotta Martinů wish Paul [and Maja] Sacher a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. They are on the Côte d'Azur and are cold - in New York they got used to central heating and now have to heat themselves with wood. But BM is content to be a little aloof from the struggles going on in the musical life, which is becoming too dodecaphonic for him.
For the first time in his life, BM is doing management work on behalf of the Brooklyn-based twin-musicians [Gerald and Wilfred Beal: The Beal Twins] who will travel to Europe the following year with a CONCERT FOR TWO HOUSELETS AND ORCHESTRA. Although they have their own manager, Mr. C. Winderstein of Munich, they trust the influence of the writer's name. BM has already succeeded in Brussels and perhaps in Paris. CW asked if he knew Walter Strebi, who is in charge of the Lucerne Festival. BM and PS seem to know him; he gave them both a warm welcome at Lucerne when the weather was bad. Was it him? Could PS contact him or pass on his contact details to the writer?
The Beal Twins play a great show. BM doesn't know if PS would be interested in this kind of music, plus BM is already inundating him with EPOSES ABOUT GILGAMES. Maybe they would be good for Conrad Beck on the radio [Schweizer Radio]. BM now leaves these worries to CW.
BM has written his first piano sonata [SONATA FOR THE PIANO]. "Will you never leave the Côte [d'Azur] of Nice? When are you coming to New York?" [?]
