Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů thanks Paul [and Maja] Sacher for their letter.
PS was right about the dedication on the JULIETTA piano lift [see Sac 1948-11-06]: BM signed it in Paris and does not understand himself why it was sent from Prague. BM also asked that at least a copy of the English translation be sent to the addressee or that he be informed of the possibility of producing a German translation. BM mentions a Czech from Basel or Bern, the translator Jelinek. Could PS ask Conrad Beck about him? BM has no news from Prague. Does the PS have news from Karel Šebánek?
PS mentioned to the writer the new Italian edition of Domenico Scarlatti's works, BM has long been interested in it. He has only a few known sonatas [in the US] and would like to know more of DS's work. How could BM get an edition? How much would it cost? Would it be possible to send it to the US? He would also like to get at least a catalogue of Arcangelo Corelli's works. Is it the same edition?
BM is looking forward to Gilgamesh. He will probably write a secular cantata ["Secular Cantata"; EPOS ON GILGAMES].
