Content and physical description
ContentPaul Sacher thanks Bohuslav Martinů for his letter of 12.11. They also received a message from Charlotte Martinů that she will travel back to BM. By the time BM reads these lines, ChM is probably already there.
PS has received the scores of the 2nd and 3rd movements of TOCCATA E DUE CANZONI, but the parts have not yet arrived.
Did BM or Boosey & Hawkes do the proofreading? It is a pity that BM will not be able to attend the concert on 21 Jan [performance of TOCCATA E DUE CANZONI by the Basel Chamber Orchestra].
PS will be conducting a DOUBLE CONCERT in Prague on 23/4/1947. Hopefully BM will be in Europe by then and will be able to attend the performance.
The composer's fee for TOCCATA E DUE CANZONI is being kept by the PS for safekeeping. He would be very happy for BM to write a new work for him, especially if it were for string orchestra.
PS sends his regards to Charlotte Martinů.
