Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů thanks Paul Sacher for his letter and apologises for the delayed reply.
He and Charlotte Martinů are preparing to leave, but have not yet set a date. BM has been offered a professorship at the Berkshire Festival, which starts on 1 July.
He mentions other complications related to their return to Europe. They will probably stay in the US for a while until the situation in Europe stabilizes a bit. BM has a lot of work in the US and hasn't secured anything in Europe yet. Still haven't received news about Prague. He would like to experience the atmosphere of Europe and Paris again and maybe eventually come to [Prague Spring], but he is undecided.
He is composing SYMPHONY No. 5, perhaps for the Red Cross. He is also thinking of the piece he promised Sacher [TOCCATA E DUE CANZONI]. PS will have it by August at the latest.
BM and ChM greet the addressee and [Maja Sacher].
