Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů would very much like to come to Prague for the premiere of HALF TIME [ČF, Václav Talich, 7 December 1924]. He asks VT to print his opinion and creative intention in the programme. This is followed by an extensive description of how the work is not to be understood, why he wrote it, and what inspired it. He gives critics "permission" to look for "the influence of Paris" in the new work, because the work was indeed written here - not as in the case of ISTAR or other earlier works written in Polička. They look forward to hearing from him about the premiere and the festival [the work is scheduled to be performed at the Second Festival of the International Society for Contemporary Music on May 15, 1925]. Gives his Paris address, which VT is to leave in his office and also give to Stanislav Novák.
