ContentHe's glad the holidays are over, it's quiet. He's working again. The work on the opera [MARRIAGE] has exhausted him, he won't do it anymore. This week he's going to Washington for the premiere of SONATAS FOR VIOLONCELLO AND CLAVIER No. 3. Describes a New Year's party, friends came: a Russian composer with his Chinese wife [Cherepnin] and a pianist he told her about [Firkušný?] At midnight they called their conductor friend [Kubelík] in Chicago. The pianist [Firkušný] would be playing in Italy, but not in Milan, so she would not meet him. He's busy again, rushing to rehearse on TV.
