Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů has no news from Karel Šebánek and is concerned about it. He repeats his questions about the payment of the OSA money - he needs it urgently. He will probably sign a contract there [with Boosey and Hawkes?], which is much more concrete and certain. He expected KS to send him a definite contract for the works they discussed in Paris. What they signed is not a binding and valid contract. Also, nothing is happening with their representation abroad, Raplh Hawkes is slowly losing interest, although for BM works he would welcome the collaboration with Melantrich. He can't look after his own affairs, he can't manage everything. He would badly need several copies of the English translation of JULIETTA, and one should be sent quickly to Paul Sacher as well. BM will put the text in the elevator himself, but he doesn't have much time. He still hasn't received the record [SYMPHONY No. 4, recorded by Rafael Kubelík with CF?]. He hasn't even had an answer from KS to his question about CONCERT FOR PIANO AND ORCHESTRA No. 2. He is getting tired of it. He doesn't know what's going on, thinks something is wrong, apologizes. He wouldn't negotiate with Melantrich himself, he's doing it for KS. His professorship at Princeton University gives him options, but waiting for the news makes him miss everything. His advice is to definitely not start negotiating with AMP even if they offer good terms.
