ContentThe comedy [MARRIAGE] is much longer than he thought. In the last week he has been very busy - composing and giving a concert [the American premiere of CONCERT FOR VIOLONCELLO AND ORCHESTRA No. 1]. It was a tremendous success, and he praises the performance (Fournier, dir. Mitropoulos). Fournier will be in Milan around January. He is pleased that OS is feeling better and that he has a job. Presidential elections are underway in America, BM describes the atmosphere. He will inform her of the plans [to carry out] the VESELOHRY ON THE BRIDGE as soon as he hears anything. She has another performance next week [?] but it's not opening night so she'll just listen to it. He describes the weather, his state of health. Reminisces and imagines times spent with OS.
