Content and physical description
ContentHe reports that the money has arrived, he has paid the rent [for Zrzavý's studio], and he gives specific details of his handling of the money. He spoke to the landlady, he was in the studio (he is fine, no one was there). He expresses joy at Zrzavý's success, which he heard about [the opening]. Mentions Saffranek's intention with Zrzavý's paintings. He read the criticism [of the opening] in Lidovky. He asks if there was a planned soirée after the opening and if Novák played there. He greets him and says that he has had the Trio [Piano Trio No. 1 (Cinq piéces breves)] copied (they will send it to him) and that he is waiting for the texts for the songs for Andula [presumably Three Songs on the Poems of Apollinaire for Anna Pecirkova]. He mentions the current situation of the publication of his works (the application in Prague, Saffron), about housing and about Charlotte (she sends her regards, she wrote a letter to Zrzavý, she gained weight). There will be several performances in Paris: the Sonata [Sonata No. 1 for violin and piano], the Trio [Piano Trio No. 1 (Cinq piéces breves)] and probably the Bagarre. He is very busy.
