Content and physical description
ContentBM asks Nezval to write a text for the attached subject. It is needed by August 15th. The religious element is not the most important, he is mainly concerned with the lyrical atmosphere, the poetry of the legend. To give Nezval a better idea, he describes to him what instruments he wants to use, how he wants to place the chorus, what is important to him in the text (in terms of content and form; he describes his requirements for the translation and rhythm of the verses in great detail in the 2 pages following the text of "Virgins wise and foolish"), and where he leaves him complete freedom. If this religious subject is completely alien to him, he should give it back to Honzl to commission someone else, or he should choose someone himself. Either way, BM needs it by the 15th of August! Following are 4 pages of text description for "Virgins Wise and Foolish", (then 2 pages of detailed requirements) and 4 pages of breakdown and scene description for the "Mariken of Nimegue" section.
