Content and physical description
ContentThey apologise for having been silent for so long, they wanted to wait with the decision with regard to the political situation in Germany. They have received the autograph of his trio [CONCERTO FOR PIANO TRIO WITH STRING ORCHESTRA] and gone through it with great interest. Just like all his works, it is masterfully made; they were primarily intrigued by the details. But, frankly speaking, it is a work not as strongly inspired as the majority of his other pieces. The slow movement in particular is monotonous and boring, they would like to advise him to re-examine this slow movement once more to see whether it could be revised in a more plastic manner, through shortening or more forcible melodies. When it comes to the STRING SEXTET, however, they consider it a truly significant and elaborate work, one they are definitely more interested in than the trio. They are pleased by the great success, which he fully deserves. The writer will be going to Paris at the end of the month and hopes that they will see each other and discuss everything face-to-face. For the time being, he sends back the trio. They have sent his works to Mr. Karl Mooser.
