Content and physical description
ContentThe whole letter concerns the Cello Concerto [No. 1, 1930]. B. Martinů heard it on the radio and could not recognise it. He learned from Schott that they had used the sheet music of the first version, which was full of errors, because they had no other material. He thought that everything had been solved long ago. Thinking of a definitive revision of the concerto, his request to Strecker (Schott) for a new edition was granted. The modifications will mainly concern the orchestra (without piano) and also the cello part. For the realization he needs to get the score and meet with P. Fournier during the summer for the cell part. He asks him to send the score. He will stay in Nice until the end of July.
