The jazz-suite from the ballet Kitchen Revue was composed by Martinů in the same year as the ballet itself, in 1927 in Paris. It consists of four parts: 1. Prologue – Allegretto, 2. Tango – Lento, 3. Charleston – Poco a poco Allegro, 4. Finale – Tempo di Marcia. The premiere took place on January 5, 1930, in Paris, performed by Alfred Cortot.
