The first page contains the work's title and the name of the author in the heading (OTVÍRÁNÍ STUDÁNEK | OPENING THE WELLS | DAS MAIFEST DER BRÜNNLEIN | TEXT M. BUREŠ | B. MARTINŮ).
The vocal line includes lyrics in Czech and English, and a phonetic transcription of the Czech, which was added for a performance in Cleveland in 1984.
