Content and physical description

Content	Miloš Šafránek writes to Karel Ančerl the result of his study of Martinů's manuscript score KYTICE, which KA is to record on Saturday. It concerns the number of strings: 1. 2. 3. 4. violin, 1. viola, 1. 2. 3. cello, double bass. The composer notes on the 2nd page of the score that the violins can be doubled, i.e. by counter, the others are solos, the double basses better two. It is therefore a small orchestra, with a maximum of 29 players. Hopefully this information will be useful.
