ContentBohuslav Martinů informs Charlotte Martinů that a week has passed since his departure. He has received a letter from her in Amsterdam and is expecting another. His mother [Karolina Martinů] is not feeling well. She has no news of [Stanislav] Novák. He enquires whether [Jan] Zrzavy has arrived in Paris. Because of the bad weather, BM cannot go out, but he cannot compose either, and so the time drags on. The Amsterdam Festival has asked him for a piece, he sends the DUO FOR HOUSEL AND VIOLONCELLO No. 1. He thinks of ChM, remembers the time they spent together.
