ContentBohuslav Martinů tells Charlotte Martinů that Mummy [Karolina Martinů] and Marie [Martinů] are back home after their hospital stay. [Stanislav] Novák has settled with his family near Hluboká. BM received a letter from [Samuel] Dushkin offering 2000 francs for a dance, for a total of four or five dances, i.e. 8000 to 10000 francs, which BM accepted, yet he has no idea yet what to compose or when [the later CONCERTANT SUITE FOR MUSIC AND ORCHESTRA, H 276 I]. He plans to return, to stay with [Jindrich] Honzl in Prague and intends to resolve the situation with [Juliette] Arányi as soon as possible. He is surprised that they have not sent money from Melantrich. SN has sold his violin, is satisfied with this and is thinking of buying a car or a house on the Côte d'Azur or near Polička.
