Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů writes a letter to Bohuslav Šmíd thanking him for taking charge of his piano. BM describes his relationship with the piano and his gratitude that it will now be in good hands. He writes that he would like the piano to remain in Polička as a memorial and perhaps an inspiration to other composers from here. At the end of the letter, BM mentions his intention to write some piano pieces for "Božánek, or for Sonička" [Bohuslav Šmíd's children - Bohuslav Šmíd Jr. and Soňa Šmídová] so that they would have a manuscript to remember him by.
