Content and physical description
ContentDr. [Oktavian von] Spitzmüller [Universal Edition] travels to a music festival in Amsterdam to hand over material for [Martinů's] CONCERTO GROSSO. The piece will be performed by Charles Munch (who has already received the score) with his orchestra [the Boston Symphony Orchestra] in Scheveningen. Munch announced that the rehearsal would take place on 9 August [1948]. They have yet to give the exact date of performance and whether it is planned to only be performed in Scheveningen or also in Amsterdam. Munch will perform the work at the Edinburgh Music Festival and will therefore take the score and material away after the performance. They [the Concertgebouw Orchestra] are to send Münch a short letter asking him to keep them informed of performances from this material and to return the material after the last performance. The score that Munch now has was given to him as an honorary copy.
