Universal Edition informs Jan Löwenbach that [Martinů's] CONCERTO GROSSO is already in production and would have been published if the great drought of the summer of that year had not caused a restriction in the supply of paper and electricity to the printer. Two days ago they discussed this problem with [Karel] Šebánek. UE assure JL that they are particularly interested in this work, as well as in other Martinů pieces. On 7 November [1947] CONCERTO GROSSO was performed in Basel. Its next performance is expected to take place in Vienna in February.
