ContentThe Basel Chamber Orchestra acknowledges receipt of the invoice dated 27 October [1947] for the fee for the performance of [Martinů's] CONCERTO GROSSO in the amount of seventy francs. With [Alfred] Schlee they agree that UE's [Universal Edition] enquiries will only be credited when their credit balance with UE, discussed in correspondence of 23.6.1947, has been covered. The number of parts ordered for the orchestra was insufficient for the performance. Two voices had to be rewritten. They ask that the cost of this transcription be deducted from the bill. They point out that this was not the premiere of the work (as stated in the invoice).
