Content and physical description
ContentCharlotte Martinů tells about a concert on 13 August [1976], where the Talich Quartet played SMYSZČOVÝ KVARTET No.2. The performance was beautiful and a great success. ChM had already written in a letter to [Vladimír] Ševčík about all that had been played and would be played from the works of Bohuslav Martinů. He hopes that the trip of the CHM staff to Switzerland will take place as soon as possible.
As for the visit to Prague, everything depends on the programme of the Prague Spring Festival. Alain [Bécourt] would like to accompany the ChM, but he teaches at a technical lyceum, so it won't be easy. [Joseph] Perchaud would like to go, but his wife doesn't quite agree. They need to get a car, ChM has called Lorenzo at the embassy, he might have a car, but hasn't heard back yet. No one from the embassy was at the Talich Quartet concert, which surprised ChM very much.
ChM is happy that a translation of her book will soon be finished and published by Orbis. She has already written to [Diederik] De Jong. She begs very much that BM's portrait of [Gerald] Davis be used. She does not understand what it means that 'the afterword by [George] Cinderella will not be used'. Otherwise agrees she could sign the contract in May when she is in Prague.
Has the CHF received contracts from SUISA and Bärenreiter? She wrote to the Sachers about the transfer of BM's remains, they have not yet replied.
Letter 16.3.1976: the Sachers replied, it does not look good, hopefully the CHF will be lucky and arrange everything with them during a personal visit to Pratteln.
