Content and physical description
ContentCharlotte Martinů received a telegram from Richard Klos dated 26 September [1974]. She thanks him for the invitation [?], but this will have to wait, ChM is not quite well at the moment. This week RK will send an English translation of her memoirs by [Diederik] De Jong and also photographs. DDJ will then send more photos directly from the USA. ChM considers these photographs very important and asks that they be returned to her.
On his trip to Russia, Sasha Vettomov met Professor Ginsburg, who is seriously interested in translating the memoirs into Russian. RK can discuss this with SV, ChM gives his address.
He is not getting news from [Yaroslav] Mihul, that is not polite of him.
[Didier] Duclos of Boosey & Hawkes promises her the address of Mr Le Calve, who owns the manuscript of the quartet. ChM is going to visit him in Paris at the end of the month.
Together with RK and JM they have several matters to settle: the issue of condolences on the death of Bohuslav Martinů and the establishment of an international society of friends of BM.
ChM also asks RK to inquire at Supraphon about the SONATA FOR TWO PIANOES. ChM found it at the Salabert publishing house in Paris, where the new director did not know what to do with it. When she received it, she sent the material to Supraphon and has had no news of the work's fate since.
