Content and physical description
ContentGeorge Schick's good friend Walter Schmolka wrote to Ernst Roth in July about GS's upcoming visit to London. The main reason for his trip was to secure production of Martinů's JULIETTA, either on one of the London opera stages or with the BBC. A prerequisite for this would be a complete English translation. Walter has now completed putting the English words into the vocal score and Mr. [David] Adams of Boosey & Hawkes is sending it by regular mail, it should arrive at the ER office in 2 or 3 weeks. GS would appreciate if ER tried to get the interest of any of the above-mentioned. If they succeeded, the performance would certainly be the first in the English language.
