Content and physical description
ContentKarel Veselý congratulates Bohuslav Martinů on his birthday. The Prague Teachers' Singing Association celebrated its 50th anniversary this year. During a concert in Smetana Hall, they were given the pleasure of work by the Minister of Education [František] Kahuda. At the concert were [František] Spilka and [Metod] Doležil. The program was "retrospective": first the obligatory peace choruses by Prokofiev and Muradeli, then Smetana, Dvořák, Janáček, Martinů, Spilka and national songs. The new conductor Jan Kasal, conductor of the radio choir, conducted. The KV evaluates his performance very positively. JK and the choir staged the Songs of the Soldiers. The PSPU has a lot of work ahead of them, a trip to Poland awaits them. They would be happy to have BM write a male chorus for them.
