ContentThe Society for the Restoration of Lidice plans to underpin Bohuslav Martinů's music with documentary footage of the Lidice tragedy and thus create a "film music poem". They are asking BM for permission to use his composition MEMORIAL TO LIDICI for this purpose. If the BM approves this idea, they will need a different recording of the piece than the one available with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra from 1946 (not suitable because of audience coughing and chair creaking). They are not after commercial purposes, they are after "absolute film".
