Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů writes to Vladimír Vaňek that before his departure he has a lot of work to do to sort out the rest that he has been putting off for a long time. With pain he read VV's letter about the problems with his leg. Perhaps VV's travails are over and he is bouncing around the streets of Liding. Next week Mr and Mrs Martin leave for France, where they will lounge and travel until September, when BM will again be available at his old address in Nice. Until then he will not write, as he is unable to write a letter without a typewriter. He will see if absolute inactivity will help his hand to return to normal. He'll only need it to sign checks, haha. On a nice note, BM has one last act of GREEK PASSIONS to do, which is brand new, so the premiere is postponed. He didn't have time to do it at Schoenberg because he was working on other contracts. VV is supposed to say hello to Jakerl and get a feel for that frantic photographer [Kary H.] Lasch, who was probably just pushing the button of his camera and didn't have film in it.
