ContentBohuslav Martinů writes to Vladimír Vaňek, in an ironically flighty style, that they were expected to visit, but the Vaňeks did not come, probably because of the snow calamity that hit Basel and perhaps Rome. VV is certainly busy and looking forward to going home to Rome. BM will be looking forward to the news. EPOS ON GILGAMES [premiered in January 1958] was a tremendous success. A representative of the Prague Composers' Union came to the premiere and was pleased with the concert. BM even spoke to the radio after the premiere. Now indulging in the winter climate, BM got a new winter coat and hat.
