Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů responds with a delay to Vladimír Vaněk's letter, because he and Charlotte went to Europe on the Riviera and have only just returned. BM did not take care of selling the "Stravinsky score" because he was not in NY. They wanted to rest in France, but that didn't happen because of Martin's passion for describing music paper. In Paris he met M[ilos] Šafránek, so they reminisced about the old times and also about V. Vaňek. The Martins are back in NY and spent months of time looking for an apartment, unsuccessfully. BM would like VV to write what he is doing and what he thinks about world events. The Martins are going back to Europe in the spring and will probably stay there. BM was previously offered a position at the American Academy in Rome but had to decline. He will try to arrange a place for next winter.
