Content and physical description
ContentThese days they [Bohuslav Martinů] received a letter dated 21/11 41, which he will send to Karel Šebánek for inspection if he wishes. BM writes that regarding the manuscripts at Melantrich's, KS will write himself. MM does not know if the letter in question will still arrive. Her letter advising the result of the scoring was returned to her. BM had a concert in Boston, the Boston Philharmonic played with Serge Koussevitzky conducting [premiere of CONCERTA GROSSA], who conducted LA BAGARRE for the first time. They played it twice in November, then in December, then in January it will be played in New York. BM got a commission for [the 1st] SYMPHONY.
If it weren't for thoughts of family in Polička, BM would have been happy. Marie Martinů hopes that Karolina Martinů will live to see BM return. Good people are helping them through a difficult time. She hopes that KS received the previous two letters where MM wrote that (thanks to KS) KM received support. Jan Zrzavy sent them 500 crowns, they were surprised. They hope that KS will visit them, he will always be welcome.
BM also sent a card.
