Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů thanks Mr Schweighofer for his letter. He sends him a page of an old manuscript because he is now having writer's cramp. In the enclosure to the letter BM writes that he [presumably Charles Munch] thinks that he has forgotten to write him a work in thanks for performing his score in New York [presumably SYMPHONY No. 6]. He apologizes for his delay, but ChM himself knows well what life is like for a composer who needs to earn money for the next month. Since receiving the Grand Prix he has had a little more time, which he has used to write a new three-movement score for ChM. The following is a description of the new piece.
