Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů thanks for both letters [of 14 February and 9 April 1950], and will try to find the remedy. There are certainly possibilities of performing JULIETTE and other operas in the USA. He has finally received his score of JULIETTE. He asks Henry Honzl if there would be any possibility of ND lending him or a certain company their orchestral material for a fee. He has not yet had the opportunity to think about the subject of the opera in particular; he is somewhat distant from the idea described by JH, although he understands its importance in our current life. BM doesn't know if he'll be looking for something - there's a big gap between his feelings and the current situation in the US. He saw a note somewhere that intrigued him, probably about a novel by Dostoevsky - A Funny Man's Dream. He had never seen or read it, but JH might know something about it.
